Hi Petals,
Now I know when I think of olive oil I think of oiliness, greasy and definitely not something I want to be slobbering all over my face and body. However there are numerous beauty benefits of olive oil, so I thought I'd share them with you :).
- Bath Oil - Add a capful to your bath water for added bath moisturising qualities.
- Eyebrow Maintenance - When plucking apply some olive oil to your unruly brows to soften the hair follicle and aid in the tweezing process.
- Foot Moisturiser - Lather all over your feet, pop them in some cozy socks and drift off to the land of nod. When you wake up you will have silky soft tootsies.
- Hair Mask - Pop some in the ends of your hair - avoid the roots (roots = greasy head), wrap it up for at least 30 minutes. Wash your hair normally, with shampoo and conditioner, and you will have super soft, luscious locks.
- Makeup Brush Cleaner - Mix a drop with dishwashing liquid and a tad of water. Rub your brush into it until it lathers, then rinse it out - remember and not let the water get into the ferrel, we don't want to destroy them just clean them :) -.
- Facial Scrub - Mix some olive oil, sugar and honey making a natural DIY facial scrub.
- Intense Moisturiser - Slather into your elbows, knees and feet as an intense moisturiser - great little tip for the wintery months -.
- Cuticle Softener - Apply to the nails, hands and cuticles as a cuticle softener and a natural hand moisturiser.
- Makeup Remover - Pop on a cotton ball and use as a natural makeup remover.
- Shaving Cream - The olive oil softens the hair follicle giving a nice, close shave - wet or dry -. Great if you're on the go and don't have time to jump in the shower / bath.
- Weight Loss - Natural oils can aid in making us full right after food consumption. It is also thought that olive oil helps control cravings.
Who would have guessed that olive oil had so many benefits, I have to try them out and see just how well they actually work:).
What do you use olive oil for - other than cooking obviously :) -? Would you like me to let you know how these tips work on me?
