Hi Petals,
I have owned Vaseline for so many years now and I love that it's inexpensive, easy to find - another bonus -, multi-functional and a little goes a long way.
I have been scouring around to see what I could dig up for uses for this little product and I found a few that are better alternatives to other, possibly more harmful products. So in this post I will give you a bit of a run down on just a few of the different ways you could implement Vaseline into your everyday beauty regime.
- Lip balm - probably the thing that vaseline is most commonly used for. it is a great hydrating lip balm (a wee product I use at night if I feel my lips are really struggling with harsh weather, or if I'm not feeling too great).
- Longer lashes- vaseline is known to help grow your eyelashes. So if you are after longer lashes try popping some vaseline into them before jumping into bed at night and reap the rewards.
- Intensive moisturiser - rub onto your ankles, knees and elbows as they tend to be the driest places of your body and let it do it's thing.
- Cuticle and nail balm - apply this to your cuticles to help soften them and improve the appearance of horrible cuticles.
- Perfume smell extender - apply to wrists before popping your perfume on top. This will help extend the smell of your perfume allowing you to smell delicious all day long.
- DIY salt scrub - mix vaseline with some sea salt and any other fragrances you so desire to make your very own, personalised salt scrub.
- Natural makeup remover - rub vaseline over your dry face to help break up your makeup making it super easy to remove. No more harsh scrubbing!
- Brow gel - It isn't the best brow gel but it definitely helps shape your brows. I do this before waxing to ensure i am getting exactly the shape I am after.
- Scalp conditioner - vaseline is a great conditioner for the scalp. Not only that but it also helps to relieve any itching as a result of dandruff.
- Helps to soothe rashes
- Helps remove hair dye stains - try applying around the nape of your neck, hair line and ears before dying your hair. The days of scrubbing your head and ears for hours will be a thing of the past.
- Helps hair look healthier - apply throughout your hair to give your hair a more choppy appearance. Also try applying some vaseline to the ends of you hair, this really helps to reduce the appearance of split ends and makes your hair look super healthy.
- Removes makeup stains from clothes
- DIY lip exfoliator - apply to your lips and lightly brush your teeth with a toothbrush (a baby toothbrush works best as it is much less abrasive, however it still gets the job done.
- False lash remover - apply some vaseline to your falsies and it will help them glide right off, giving your natural eyelashes less of a bashing in the process.
